This is peak Rick and Morty and arguably one of the greatest animated episodes ever made.
The art and animation are absolutely stunning, transforming a cynical setup – Rick becoming a pickle to skip therapy – into a hyper-violent, expertly choreographed action movie that is visually thrilling. The sheer absurdity of watching Rick engineer a suit of armor out of roaches and rat skeletons is comedy gold, earning genuine top-tier laughs.
But what makes it a 9.5/10 isn’t just the action, but also the sharp, brilliant writing of the B-plot. Susan Sarandon’s performance as Dr. Wong delivering that unflinching, laser-accurate diagnosis to Rick and Beth is pure master-class television. The balance between insane spectacle and profound character insight is flawless.
