Season 3 concludes not with a dramatic bang, but with a highly entertaining whimper… a standalone adventure that prioritizes family reset over world-ending stakes.
The episode shines by pitting Rick’s cosmic ego against the equally petty power of a returning President (voiced brilliantly by Keith David). Their all-out brawl in the White House, culminating in a spectacular display of gadgets, firepower, and wit, is a highlight.
Coupled with Beth’s existential crisis over whether she’s a clone and her bizarre reconciliation with Jerry, the episode feels more like a mid-season palate cleanser than a true finale.
While it lacks the emotional devastation or grand narrative sweep of previous closers, the relentless action and sharp dialogue make it a very funny, high-quality installment that’s easily one of the better episodes of the season. The overall art and animation are top-tier, especially during the Rick vs. President fight.
Ultimately, it’s a great episode, but the season deserved a more impactful closing statement than this “everything goes back to normal” button.
