Such a clever and necessary meta-episode wow a strong 8.5/10 rating from me. Subverting the Interdimensional Cable format, “Morty’s Mind Blowers” reveals an ominous, hidden archive of all the adventures Rick has forced Morty to forget.
The episode’s strength lies in its relentless barrage of imaginative, bite-sized stories… from squirrel overlords to accidentally framing a man for suicide. The rapid, punchy art and animation give life to these otherwise lost memories. More than just a gag reel, this episode is a dark and profound look at the true cost of Morty’s trauma and the extent of Rick’s control over his grandson.
The twist involving Summer is a brilliant reveal that cements her role as the reluctant family stabilizer, ensuring the dysfunctional status quo (and the fun) can continue.
