This episode started with massive potential and great expectations!
Following a chaotic accident, Rick and Morty officially split up, and their desperate attempts to replace each other make for fascinating television. Morty tries to live a normal life while Rick immediately recruits a far more capable partner, Two Crows, leading to a lot of funny chaos as they navigate new adventure dynamics.
However, the second half introduces a confusing mix of new side characters and alternate Ricks that feel distracting. While the premise of their co-dependence is strong, the numerous side-plots dilute the emotional weight of the breakup. The focus shifts from the core relationship to scattered absurdity, which unfortunately left the resolution feeling rushed and less satisfying.
A good, but ultimately uneven, 7/10.
