Not Quite Legacy, But the Spirit of Tron Lives On

Having skipped the theater due to the buzz, I was pleasantly surprised by Tron: Ares. While it lacks the pure, immersive magic of Legacy, it captures the franchise’s spirit through a different lens. On an 85″ screen, the VFX and art style still pop, even if the “real-world” setting loses some of that classic neon-grid atmosphere.

The story is a departure, focusing on an AI crossing over, but it’s a watchable sci-fi journey that kept me and my teenage son – who loved it as his first Tron experience – fully engaged. Jared Leto is solid, but the visuals are the real draw here.

It’s a respectable 6/10 that proves there’s still life in the Grid.
