Season 7 kicks off with a bang – or more like a sloppy, boozy bender – and honestly, it feels like classic Rick and Morty comfort food. Or maybe I have just missed this for a while…
Focusing on poor Mr. Poopybutthole’s post-divorce spiral, the episode drags Rick’s old crew out for what starts as an intervention but predictably turns into an epic night of alien partying, celebrity cameos, and total mayhem.
The new voices? Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden slide in so smoothly I forgot about the drama in minutes… the burps, the sarcasm, the whiny panic, it’s all there. Hugh Jackman playing a drugged-up version of himself is pure gold, and the gross-out chaos hits that sweet spot of hilarious absurdity.
It’s not the deepest entry, and the family gets sidelined, but this is a solid, fun reset that proves the show survives just fine. Crude, irreverent, and laugh-out-loud funny.
