This is a curiously flat episode, more earnest than engaging, and one that struggles to justify its focus.
The humour is sparse to the point of near absence, and the central conflict never quite clarifies what it wants to say beyond a general discomfort with rigidity. Hank’s behaviour is exaggerated without being especially illuminating, leaving the episode feeling preachy without delivering insight.
That said, it remains watchable due to the show’s baseline strengths: character consistency, quiet domestic moments, and a willingness to let Hank sit with the consequences of his inflexibility. There is some modest character movement, but it arrives without much emotional payoff.
An episode that gestures at growth, but does so without wit or momentum.
