The episode takes a while to find its footing, with a first half that feels subdued and a bit unfocused.
However, once Bill properly enters the narrative, the episode sharpens considerably. What ultimately elevates it is not just Bill’s presence, but how the situation quietly reframes Hank’s character. The story highlights Hank’s instinct to impose structure, purpose, and responsibility as solutions to emotional problems – revealing both his strengths and his blind spots.
The back half is more confident, more character-driven, and lands a genuinely satisfying sense of closure without forcing sentimentality.
7.5/10: Not a standout classic, but a thoughtful and solid installment that rewards patience and deepens its core characters.
