Season 7’s big Evil Morty/Rick Prime showdown is a solid episode that finally closes one of the longest-running arcs, and it’s packed with brutal action, lore callbacks, and that classic Rick emptiness at the end.
Ian Cardoni crushes the revenge rage -watching Rick pummel Prime feels cathartic as hell – and the multiversal fight choreography is some of the best the show’s done. The cold open recap is a nice touch for newer fans, and Evil Morty walking away with the Omega Device schematics sets up juicy future repercussions.
But honestly, it tries to cram too much in: the eyepatch subplot, the alliance, the massive battle, the emotional fallout… it all feels a bit overstuffed and could’ve been tighter if they kept it simpler. Still a good payoff compared to the average ones earlier in the season, and way stronger than Season 6’s weaker episodes.
Leaves me excited (and a little worried) for what’s next.
