This one’s a fun breather after the heavy Rick Prime payoff – Rick’s post-revenge depression is relatable, and Morty forcing an adventure via punch cards is a clever callback.
The clip-show concept mostly works brilliantly: tons of top-class holographic recreations of past moments land hard with laughs, nostalgia, and fresh animation polish. The first half is peak Rick and Morty… sharp bickering, hilarious embarrassment, and great use of series history. Ryan Hansen’s smug Observer is annoyingly perfect.
Second half dips when it turns into a courtroom-style family roast; the escalation feels forced and the payoff a bit messy compared to the clip magic earlier.
Still above average overall… stronger than the mid-season averages, lighter than Season 6’s heavier ones, and a solid palate cleanser with real laughs. 7.5/10.
