After a heavy start to the final season, Ep 3 “The Turnbow Trap” finally brings back the “kids on a mission” energy that made the early years so infectious.
Watching the party rig a suburban house with DIY traps felt like a nostalgic nod to the show’s roots, successfully injecting some much-needed fun back into the apocalypse. Erica remains the undisputed MVP of logistical chaos; her cold-blooded efficiency in drugging a whole family with a benzo-laced pie is the kind of high-stakes humor the show excels at.
While Vecna’s tactical choices are starting to feel a bit “villainous for the sake of the plot”, missing several clear shots to end the war early, the sheer tension of the barn-side cliffhanger makes it easy to overlook the logic gaps.
8.5/10: It’s a propulsive, entertaining hour that balances small-town heist vibes with a genuine sense of dread.
