Ep 4 “The Last Temptation of Jerry” is a decent, wildly unhinged Easter episode that keeps Season 8’s up-and-down ride going.
The body-horror transformation of Jerry into a hypnotic were-bunny sex messiah is genuinely funny and gross in all the right ways… watching him accidentally trigger orgies while becoming a galactic “savior” delivers some solid R&M absurdity. The religious zealot hunters and the dark history of Easter as an alien reproductive weapon give it a sharp blasphemous edge. Chris Parnell absolutely carries the episode with his pathetic-yet-tragicomic performance.
That said, the pacing gets messy in the second half, the ending feels strangely abrupt, and the post-credits scene is downright atrocious. It’s not one of the season’s best, but the body-horror bits and sex-messiah chaos make it entertaining enough.
Overall a middle-of-the-road episode for this up-and-down season.
