As the penultimate chapter of the saga, “The Bridge” successfully pulls the scattered factions back into a single orbit, setting the stage for a massive collision. There’s a palpable sense of momentum in the final act, with the “Operation Beanstalk” plan providing a high-concept, visually striking bridge into the Abyss. The scale of the dimension-merging threat finally feels appropriately apocalyptic, and the closing image of the children gathered around Vecna’s table is genuinely haunting.
However, for a second-to-last episode, the pacing is surprisingly uneven. The script leans heavily on clunky “info-dump” dialogue to explain the wormhole mechanics, and several character arcs feel like they’re being checked off a list rather than moving the plot forward. While the group’s reunion is a highlight, some of the more drawn-out emotional detours, specifically Will’s coming-out scene, felt like unnecessary filler that stalled the tension right when it should have been peaking.
6.5/10: It’s a rocky road to the finish line, but the final frames promise a spectacular finale.
