Ep 2 hits a noticeably stronger stride than the season opener.
The decision to revisit the tragic Erin Voss storyline from Season 1 pays off beautifully – Joy Tanner delivers a wordless awakening scene that is quietly one of the most affecting moments of the entire series.
Meanwhile Gabe’s patient manipulation of the Locke family – worming his way into their trust one key at a time – makes for deeply uncomfortable viewing, and a single suspicious refusal plants the season’s most important red flag yet.
Some subplots feel like holding patterns – Scot’s film school arc chief among them – but the expanding mythology around key-forging is genuinely fascinating. The new adult characters are slotting in more naturally than expected.
Real momentum is building. 7.5/10.
