The season’s midpoint delivers its most satisfying episode in several weeks. “Past is Prologue” earns its title – long-running threads from both seasons finally converge with real momentum. The Memory Key mystery reaches its conclusion in a quietly elegant way, with a decades-old detail from Season 1 finally clicking into place.
But it’s the episode’s closing act that genuinely crackles – Kinsey’s decision to go inside a character’s head is both the bravest and smartest thing she has done all season, and what she finds there fundamentally shifts the show’s dynamic for the second half. A welcome return visit to a beloved Season 1 character also adds genuine warmth.
All arcs moving forward purposefully, all pieces on the board. Season 2 is hitting its stride. 7.5/10.
