Hank Hill and environmental activism usually mix like oil and water, but this episode finds a clever way to force a collision. 7.5/10.
It is refreshing to see the show pivot away from the usual lawn-care obsession to explore a buried secret from the guys’ past. The flashback to their younger days is a standout moment, offering a rare, vulnerable look at Boomhauer and the shared history that binds this group together.
While the “going green” theme provides plenty of humour through Bobby’s overzealous teacher, the real heart is the tension between guilt and friendship.
The writing feels remarkably ahead of its time, poking fun at performative activism while still respecting the underlying message. It manages to be both a great character study and a sharp commentary on how far people will go to keep their skeletons, or Mustangs, firmly underwater.
