Bobby’s obsession with the “clean” comedy scene in Branson provides some great laughs as the B-story, but the main plot left me feeling a bit disconnected. Since I don’t know much about bluegrass or its cultural context, the nuances of the musical rivalry and the Branson setting were hard to fully appreciate.
This episode works best when highlighting the irony of Hank becoming just as overbearing as Kahn, but the specific focus on fiddle technique and country music tropes felt a bit niche.
6/10: It is a decent watch with some funny moments, though it lacks the universal relatability of the season’s better entries.
