Seeing Luanne and Peggy get sucked into the “Jane” lifestyle is genuinely interesting, as it plays perfectly on their shared desire for belonging and social status. The brainwashing mechanics – specifically the protein-deprivation – set up one of the most “Hank” solutions in the series: defeating a cult with the irresistible aroma of a medium-rare steak. Meanwhile, the emu subplot provides some of the best physical comedy of the season, especially as the guys struggle with the ethics of “disposing” of Buck’s failed investment.
7.5/10: It is a creative, fast-paced entry that proves even the strangest premises work when grounded in the Hill family’s unique logic.
