This episode really works because it finally puts Raj at the centre and lets his social anxiety drive the comedy instead of just being background texture. I genuinely found it one of the funnier early episodes.
The alcohol angle is the standout for me… watching Raj suddenly shift into someone who can actually talk to women is both uncomfortable and hilarious, and it lands every time because it directly exposes his core limitation instead of just joking around it.
I also liked the ending twist with Sheldon. Jim Parsons casually taking over the interaction in his own blunt, logical way is exactly the kind of payoff that fits his character.
The parents' video call adds context, even if it leans a bit caricatured and less grounded than the rest of the episode.
8.5/10: funny, focused, and very Raj-driven.
