This episode starts slower as it lines up a bunch of pieces, but it really pays off in the second half. The final 15-min crank up the energy and deliver some of the best stuff so far.
Nicolas Cage is having fun with the role, and his sofa antics at the end are pure gold – funny, weird, and totally him.
The mix of detective work, building relationships, and ramping action feels right for the midpoint of the season. The noir mood stays strong, and the period details keep pulling you in.
8/10: It’s not perfect start to finish, but the strong close makes it satisfying overall. I’m still fully on board.
