After that rough, joke-starved filler in Ep 2, Season 9 bounces right back with a banger. “Rick Fu Hustle” is peak Rick and Morty – the Kung Fu Hustle and Kill Bill spoofing is absolutely excellent, packed with over-the-top martial arts absurdity, stubborn Rick chaos, and fluid fight choreography that had me laughing the whole way.
Ian Cardoni nails the arrogant genius bits, Harry Belden brings the perfect frustrated Morty energy, and the Jerry pool robot B-story delivers some of the best crude, unhinged family humor in a while.
It feels like classic high-concept episodic gold after the heavier start to the season. Way stronger than last week and right up there with the better Season 8 adventures.
8.5/10: Glad they got the mojo back.
