“Get Your Freak Off” is a very strong season opener that leans heavily into Hank’s overprotective parenting, and it works beautifully.
Watching Hank spiral into full-blown panic mode over Bobby’s “freak dancing” and the prospect of a co-ed sleepover is classic Hank, grounding the episode in the familiar, relatable dynamics of the show while still keeping the stakes high for the characters.
The B-story is where this episode really shines. The neighborhood “sexiest man” ranking gives Peggy a sharp, competitive streak that is a massive breath of fresh air compared to her usual B-story tropes. Seeing her actively scheme and manipulate the rankings just to bump Hank out of last place gives her character a much-needed, entertaining edge.
7.5/10: It’s a solid, well-rounded start to Season 7 that balances the A and B plots perfectly.
