Even as someone who’s all about the environment, I dug this one. “MortGully: The Last Rickforest” takes that 90s FernGully vibe and turns it into classic Rick and Morty satire – balancing the message with wild extremes only this show can pull off.
The evolution/reincarnation cycle is hilarious and chaotic, with Rick’s cynicism clashing perfectly against the ecosystem lessons. Jokes land consistently without feeling preachy, and the animation is straight-up stunning, especially Morty’s full evolution sequence in the second half. Solid character moments and over-the-top action make it a fun watch.
7.5/10: Not quite hitting the 8+ highs of the kung fu or head-split episodes, but way better than the early filler. Season’s cooking.
