Ep 7 “The Texas Skillsaw Massacre” is a very good episode driven by a brilliantly smart story and genuinely hilarious dialogue. Dale is at his absolute irritating best here, and the show leans into his paranoia perfectly.
The sequence of absurd moments – from the “avoid-dance” and the imaginary cat to the tunnel collapse and the garbage truck – is pure comedy gold. The fatal stroke in anger management is a shockingly dark but perfectly executed punchline.
What really elevates this episode is the subtle, brilliant hint of Hank getting gaslighted by Dale’s absurd rules, making Hank’s eventual explosion completely earned. “Sorry, I don’t speak surface” remains an all-time classic line.
8.5/10.
