Ep 8 “Rickuiem Mort a Dream” is firing on all cylinders and nails the spoof game with Requiem for a Dream hallucinations twisted into empathy parasites, a gloriously absurd Dancing with the Stars sequence, and Total Rickall-style mind-altering chaos.
The B-story’s serial killer tropes mixed with police gags had me cracking up, especially Jerry’s dark signature bits.
And that perfect “Disney edit of a slasher movie” line. It balances the wacky highs with raw Rick-Morty toxicity in classic fashion. Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden crush the emotional swings.
8.5/10: Stronger than last week’s evolution trip and easily one of the season’s best so far – this is peak irreverent fun.
