I quite liked the King of the Grill storyline. Bobby on a reality cooking show is a natural fit and the tension with Connie lands solidly – his feelings for her come through clearly and feel earned.
That said, the contest itself got a bit repetitive and never quite became the ultra-special event it could have been. It stays entertaining without fully hitting the higher gear.
The cannon B-story is fine, nothing more. Classic Alley guys energy, but it doesn’t add much beyond filler.
7.5/10: The relationship side carries it, even if the main concept doesn’t fully deliver on its promise.
