This was a disappointing follow-up to an already mixed pilot. The murder mystery had plenty of potential, with an interesting poker setting, a collection of suspicious characters and a personal motive waiting to be uncovered.

Unfortunately, the first half is weighed down by far too many antics, particularly around Joe's involvement in the investigation. The comedy and crime elements simply don't come together convincingly, and the result feels more silly than entertaining.

The final ten minutes do manage to rescue some of the episode, with a decent revelation and a more emotionally engaging explanation behind the murder. But by then, much of the damage has been done.

I keep feeling that this series could be considerably better with stronger writing and direction.

5.5/10: After two episodes, I'm beginning to question whether it is worth continuing, which isn't a good sign.
