I honestly felt my attention drifting during the middle of this episode. It really takes its sweet time, weaving new threads like the hacker and the street thieves. But then the show reminded me exactly why I signed up for this nightmare.
That secret autopsy scene? Just pure, unfiltered disgust. I actually had to look away for a second. The effects team nailed the grotesque reality of this virus. It stops feeling like a movie and starts feeling like a real biological threat right in my living room.
Then you get the confession. I completely understood his desperation. You hate him, but you get him. Eph punching him felt incredibly satisfying to watch unfold on screen.
But the ending. Man, the ending. Watching our favorite grumpy old man step into the dark with his sword gave me some actual chills. He does not hesitate. He just does what needs doing.
6.5/10: I wanted more action, sure, but this episode built a terrifying foundation. I am fully invested now and completely ready for whatever happens next week.
