I wanted to watch Valkyrie when it was released in 2008, but the poor feedback dissuaded me. Nearly two decades later I finally decided to see it for myself, and it was probably a mistake.
The frustrating part is that the basic plot has real potential. I wanted this to work, and the letdown stings more because of it. A story like this should grip you, but the script is bad and the storytelling never gets there. The acting felt wooden to me as well.
The biggest issue is predictability. Nothing surprised me. You can see where everything is heading, and the key characters have no depth, so there's nobody to feel for. What's left is convoluted plot mechanics, and I simply stopped caring about them.
5/10: Utterly boring. The poor feedback back then was right, and I should have listened.
