What a way to finish. This finale pulls out every stop, and for once the show earns all of it.
I watched the last twenty minutes with my heart racing, and I don’t say that lightly. Everything the season promised – the lies, the loyalties, the rot at the top – lands here.
The Italian setting looks gorgeous whether or not they filmed it there, and the staging of the final act is the best-directed stretch of the whole season. Stuart’s treatment is what tipped it for me. Watching a decent man punished for doing the right thing through proper channels genuinely hurt, and it’s what makes the ending feel earned rather than drama for drama’s sake.
Kate finally stops working the system and puts herself on the line, and the show’s whole argument about power and dissent comes together in one beautiful, tense sequence. The final walkout gave me chills.
My one real complaint: we still know nothing about the shooter. That thread just evaporated across eight episodes, and it bugs me more with every day I think about it.
Still, the season ends on a high, sets up the next chapter, and reminded me why I fell for this show in the first place. 9/10
Season overall: 8/10. A rough start drowned in relationship filler slowly gives way to the show I loved. New British faces, a braver story, and a finale that delivers. Imperfect, but it gets there, and I’m glad I stayed.
