The first half of this episode worked for me. Two damaged characters on the run, a message sent through a survivor, the team decoding what "home" really means… I was locked in. The fugitive stretch gave the season urgency and a human center, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Then the bigger machinery took over. The conspiracy's architect finally stepped forward, and instead of the dread I'd been promised, I got exposition and convenience. Characters I barely knew made choices that felt engineered rather than earned, and my attention drifted. A villain eight episodes in the making should arrive with more weight than this.
Still, the hour moved… this season's worst sin is usually stalling, and this didn't stall.
The team's position has genuinely worsened in a way I find interesting, and the closing image, whatever it truly means, leaves the board set for a finale that matters. Salvageable. I'm hoping they land it. 6.5/10.
