Ep 2 feels like a holding pattern dressed up as progress. We are still waiting for the actual legal fireworks, but instead, we get more setup.

The central murder mystery inches forward, but the real weight here is the messy, unresolved tension between Jax and Lewis. Their attempts to play happy couple for family visits ring hollow, and their brief moments of intimacy only highlight the deep cracks in their foundation. Jax's professional hesitation makes sense given her past, but watching her circle the same moral drain gets repetitive.

The show clearly wants us to invest in the emotional stakes before the courtroom battle begins, yet the pacing drags. It is not bad television, just painfully deliberate. You can feel the gears turning, grinding slowly toward a major conflict that has not quite arrived yet.

6.5/10: It is a necessary bridge, but remains a very slow watch.
