A strong and satisfying return to the world of Black Doves. The season gets underway with a clear sense of forward movement, some sharp action sequences, and enough unresolved tension – including a sudden disappearance that hangs over everything – to keep the tone unsettled and interesting.

What I appreciated most was the moral murk. The show continues to refuse easy heroes or villains, and by the end of the hour I was genuinely unsure whose side I was on or whether “sides” even make sense any more. That ambiguity feels deliberate and effective.

The episode moves at a good pace without feeling rushed, and the final stretch left me wanting to keep going straight into the next one.

7.5/10: It’s not perfect, but it does exactly what a season opener should: re-establish the stakes, raise new questions, and make you eager for more.
