I loved this finale. It ties up the series' threads in a way that satisfies without pandering – there's no tidy, crowd-pleasing fantasy where truth automatically wins and villains get marched away. Instead, the resolution feels honest about how power actually works: the answers emerge because of persistence, luck and sacrifice, and the final choices land heavily.
Gabriel Byrne has been superb throughout, and here he gets the material to match… quietly determined, weary, still decent when it costs him everything.
What I appreciated most is that the show resists the urge to explain everything away. Not every secret needs to be unearthed, and leaving certain things unresolved makes the world feel more real, not less complete.
The supporting cast finish strongly too, and the closing stretch carries real tension about what one honest man can achieve against a system rigged against him.
8.5/10: A fitting end to a gripping four hours of television.
