Black Doves: S2.E2 Put Your Head on My Shoulder

A solid follow-up that keeps the momentum going without rushing to tidy things up. Most of the hour is spent opening new threads and deepening existing ones rather than closing them, which works well for a second episode – the only real forward movement comes with Reed, and even that leaves plenty still hanging.

What stood out most were Laila's scenes and the subsequent chase through Somerset House. The latter is chaotic, darkly comic and sharply staged, giving the episode a real lift and some of its best energy. The rest of the hour is more measured, focused on questions piling up and loyalties growing murkier.

It doesn't reinvent anything, but it does its job: it complicates the picture, keeps the tone unsettled, and leaves you curious about where the various strands are heading.

7.5/10: A good, unfussy continuation.
