Wrath of Man is Guy Ritchie doing what he does best: serving up a cocktail of brutality, black humour, and razor-sharp pacing.
Jason Statham, ever the stoic bruiser, plays H – a man whose emotional range could fit in a matchbox, but whose fists speak volumes. The plot twists like a knife in a back alley, and just when you think you’ve got it figured, Ritchie yanks the rug out with a smirk. It’s violent, it’s vengeful, and it’s bloody entertaining.
The dialogue crackles with Ritchie’s signature wit, though some might find the American accents jarring coming from a Brit-heavy cast. Still, the action is visceral, the tension relentless, and the payoff satisfyingly brutal. Holt McCallany and Jeffrey Donovan add layers of sleaze and suspicion, making every scene hum with unease.
Is it high art? Not a chance. But if you want a film that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until the credits roll, Wrath of Man delivers in spades.
8.5/10 – proper, gritty fun.
