Eega (Makkhi in Hindi) is an 8/10 mind-blowing spectacle that turns a wild premise – a man reborn as a fly – into a dazzling triumph.
Nani’s brief human role brims with charm, but his CGI fly, with its cheeky antics and fierce resolve, steals hearts, thanks to Makuta VFX’s stellar work. Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Bindu grounds the fantasy with tender grief and spunk, her chemistry with the fly oddly touching. Sudeep’s villain is a tour-de-force, unraveling from suave to paranoid with delicious flair, making every clash a riot. Srinivasa Reddy and Thagubothu Ramesh sprinkle laughs, though their roles are thin.
S. S. Rajamouli’s visionary direction makes the absurd believable, weaving romance, revenge, and comedy into a tight 125-minute ride. K. K. Senthil Kumar’s vibrant visuals and M. M. Keeravani’s pulsating “Eedaa Eedaa” score amplify the thrill.
It works because Rajamouli commits fully to the bonkers concept, balancing humor, heart, and high-stakes action with feminist undertones- Bindu’s empowerment shines. Minor pacing dips don’t dull its shine.
A genre-defying gem for anyone craving bold cinema.
