Ocean’s Twelve

Sliding into Ocean’s Twelve feels like joining a raucous European road trip with Danny’s crew, a 2004 sequel that trades the first film’s Vegas snap for a looser, Amsterdam and Roman adventure.

George Clooney’s Danny Ocean keeps his sly magnetism, pulling me into his orbit, though the plot’s sprawl blurs his edge. Brad Pitt’s Rusty, casually tossing quips while plotting, lights up every scene, his bond with Clooney a steady pulse. Julia Roberts’ Tess stole my heart… her cheeky turn pretending to be Julia Roberts herself had me laughing and marveling at her gutsy flair, even if the gag feels a bit forced. Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Isabel adds a sultry spark, but I wanted more from her.

The plot, chasing a Fabergé egg to outwit the Night Fox and dodge Benedict, thrives on clever cons but stumbles with tangled twists. Soderbergh’s lush visuals and David Holmes’ jazzy score keep me hooked, despite rushed sidekicks and dated tech. It’s not Ocean’s Eleven’s tight brilliance, but its bold chaos intrigues.

7.5/10: Ocean’s Twelve is a wild, witty hustle that keeps me smiling.
