Patna Shukla is one of those easygoing films that you can watch without much strain: pleasant, well-intentioned, and powered by a quietly assured Raveena Tandon.
Raveena plays Tanvi, a small-town lawyer who stumbles into a scam case and finds herself pitted against a system designed to break people like her. The story carries echoes of many Indian courtroom dramas we’ve seen before, but it does so with sincerity.
There are moments where the film clicks: Raveena’s grounded presence, Chandan Roy Sanyal’s sharp opposition, and the late Satish Kaushik’s warm final performance – and these lend the film a certain charm.
The problem is the predictability: the beats feel telegraphed, and the drama often runs on autopilot. At 2 hours plus, the film is about thirty minutes too long, and the pacing softens its impact.
Still, it’s not a bad ride… more “pleasant Sunday watch” than gripping courtroom thriller.
6.5/10: Predictable but likable, a gentle drama anchored by Raveena Tandon’s steady hand.
