London Calling is better than your average thriller comedy…proof that with sharper execution, it could’ve been a standout 8/10. But while it’s got heart (and a few genuine laughs), the film stumbles over its own feet. 6.5/10.
Pacing drags like a Monday morning commute, with the main plot taking a tedious 30 minutes to kick into gear. Jokes, meant to lighten the mood, often land with a thud, their edge dulled by overuse.
And the dark humor? It’s less “cleverly twisted” and more “try-hard,” leaning so heavily on grit that it forgets to balance with heart.
Still, there are moments… glimmers of what could’ve been… that keep you invested. Fine for a one-time watch that you won’t take home.
