Dil Bole Hadippa! Is a loud, colorful piece of masala entertainment that delivers exactly the feel-good time it promises.
Rani Mukerji is the undeniable M. V. P., committing entirely to both the spirited Veera and the endearing Sardar disguise, ‘Veer.’ Her energy is infectious and makes the film a pure joy to watch.
However, to be clear the plot is frustratingly thin and tropey. The cricket action is flat, and the central disguise is so implausible it requires a serious suspension of disbelief.
It’s a predictable blend of Chak De! And a rom-com, yet the sheer charisma of Rani Mukerji keeps the whole thing engaging and fun until the final, melodramatic speech. 6.5/10.
