Ulajh had everything going for it – premise, cast, scale – and still manages to waste it all. What begins as a promising diplomatic thriller quickly descends into lazy writing and hollow plotting.
Janhvi Kapoor gives it her best shot, but her character Suhana makes so many illogical choices that it’s impossible to root for her. Gulshan Devaiah starts strong, then gets lost in weak motivation and clumsy twists.
The film keeps pretending to be intelligent when it’s just explaining things in circles. Scenes drag, the stakes never feel real, and the supposed intrigue evaporates into cliché. Even the espionage setup feels half-baked, more soap than spycraft.
You can sense the potential… buried under endless exposition and characters written like afterthoughts. By the end, Ulajh isn’t a thriller; it’s a test of patience. Slick on the surface, empty underneath.
