Airlift is a gripping 8.5/10 thriller that had me on the edge… knowing it’s (mostly) true makes it even wilder!
Akshay Kumar nails Ranjit Katyal, transforming from smug expat to desperate hero, his intensity fueling every tense negotiation. Nimrat Kaur’s Amrita grounds the chaos with fierce heart, while Kumud Mishra’s Kohli adds bureaucratic bite. Prakash Belawadi and Inaamulhaq ramp up the menace, though some accents wobble.
Raja Krishna Menon’s direction keeps the 130-minute ride taut, with Priya Seth’s gritty visuals and Hemanti Sarkar’s sharp edits nailing the war-zone panic. Amaal Mallik and Ankit Tiwari’s score pumps adrenaline.
Minor drags in the middle and simplified history aside, the real evacuation’s scale (170,000 saved!) blows your mind. Wish Bollywood made more like this: patriotic, thrilling, and rooted in forgotten heroes.
A must-watch for that goosebump rush!
