Band Baaja Baaraat is a crackling 8.5/10 rom-com that still feels like a Delhi wedding… loud, real, and full of heart!
Ranveer Singh explodes as Bittoo, his raw charm and hustle launching him into stardom, while Anushka Sharma’s Shruti is fire – ambitious, funny, and fierce, her true breakout after a dud debut (IMO).
Their no-romance pact crumbles into electric love, and the fallout hits hard. Maneesh Sharma nails middle-class dreams, Delhi’s chaos, and wedding madness with zero gloss. Aseem Mishra’s visuals and Namrata Rao’s edits keep it snappy.
The story’s authentic, emotional, and hilarious – friendship, ambition, heartbreak, reunion – all land. The Delhi ethos? Pure gold – take it from me, a pure Delhiite! Balle!
And the songs? Ainvayi Ainvayi (pure dance fire), Tarkeebein (romantic gold), and Aadha Ishq (soulful ache) elevate every scene. Minor pacing dips aside, this is YRF at its freshest.
A must-watch for love, laughs, and two stars being born!
