A Few Good Men remains a gripping, thought-provoking drama even after multiple viewings.

Tom Cruise stars as Lt. Daniel Kaffee, a Navy lawyer with a reputation for avoiding trials, who is thrust into a high-stakes court-martial case involving two Marines accused of murder. The film’s strength lies in its dialogue, performances, and moral complexity. Cruise is compelling as Kaffee, balancing arrogance with a growing sense of responsibility, while Demi Moore brings fiery determination to her role as his co-counsel.

But it’s Jack Nicholson who steals the show as Col. Nathan Jessup, delivering a performance that is both commanding and terrifying. His iconic courtroom confrontation is one of cinema’s most unforgettable moments, but the film’s power extends beyond that scene.

The supporting cast – Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Pollak, and Cuba Gooding Jr. – all deliver top-tier performances, making the most of Aaron Sorkin’s razor-sharp script.

Rob Reiner’s direction keeps the tension high, and the courtroom scenes are masterfully staged, blending legal intrigue with deeper questions about duty, honor, and truth. Even after decades, A Few Good Men feels fresh and relevant, a testament to its strong writing and acting.

8/10: a classic that never loses its edge.
