Blimey, Robot (or “Endhiran” in its original Tamil) is a proper spectacle that had me glued to the screen, even if it’s a bit of a mixed bag.
As a fan of over-the-top Indian cinema, I found it a jolly good watch… Rajinikanth’s dual performance as the boffin and his robotic creation is bloody brilliant, blending brains with brawn in a way that’s pure entertainment. Aishwarya Rai adds a dash of glamour, and the visuals are top-notch, with A. R. Rahman’s score pumping up the energy like a proper rave.
That said, it does suffer from the typical Rajni overload of gimmicks – those larger-than-life stunts and heroic flourishes can feel a tad excessive, pulling it back from perfection. Still, for a sci-fi romp exploring man versus machine, it’s inventive and fun, earning a solid 7/10 from me.
If you’re after high-octane thrills with a tech twist, give it a whirl… you won’t be disappointed, mate.
