We saw The Meg in full-on 4DX and had an absolute blast.
Zero surprises in the story: prehistoric 75-foot shark escapes, eats tourists, Jason Statham grumbles and punches it. That’s the entire pitch, and it delivers 100%. Statham is in peak “I swim toward explosions” mode, Li Bingbing is the real hero, Rainn Wilson chews scenery like chum, and everyone else keeps it fun.
But 4DX is the secret weapon: seats buck when the Meg rams boats, water sprays your face on every breach, wind and strobe lights hit during chases. We screamed, laughed, and got legitimately soaked… best movie shower ever.
We wanted dumb, wet, sharky thrills with zero pretense. The Meg gave us exactly that, plus a couple of perfect groaner one-liners. In 4DX it’s not just a movie, it’s a theme-park ride with better jokes. Totally worth it.
