2.0

2.0 ramps up the razzle-dazzle from its predecessor, and I absolutely adored it for that eco-warrior punch on sustainability – Akshay Kumar’s fierce turn as the bird-loving baddie steals the show, giving Rajinikanth’s robotic antics a worthy rival in this tech-vs-nature showdown.

The VFX? Bloody spectacular (for 2018), miles ahead with those soaring 3D bird swarms and gadget-laden clashes that had me whooping like a kid at a fireworks display. A. R. Rahman’s thumping score keeps the pulse racing, and Shankar’s vision screams ambition.

But blimey, something’s amiss… the plot chugs along predictably without the original’s cheeky spark, feeling more like a glossy machine than a heartfelt romp, leaving emotional beats flat despite the upgraded FX wizardry.

Still, it’s a thrilling guilty pleasure that champions green causes with gusto, clocking in at a solid 7/10 for me. If you fancy big-budget bonkers with a conscience, hop on board – you’ll emerge buzzing, even if it’s not quite soaring.
