Clue

I went into Clue expecting a cheesy, forgettable adaptation of the board game – but I was pleasantly surprised.

Tim Curry is absolutely hilarious as Wadsworth, carrying the film with his physical comedy and rapid-fire delivery. The ensemble cast is solid, and the three alternate endings are a clever gimmick that still feels fresh today.

That said, the film shows its age. The humour and pacing feel uneven at times, and the plot’s twists have been done (and done better) in other movies since. Still, there’s something undeniably charming about its absurdity and commitment to the bit.

7/10 including an extra +1 for the bold, innovative triple endings. It’s not a perfect film, but it’s a fun, quirky ride that makes me wish someone would reboot it with the same energy.
