Mirage, from the writer/director who delivered the phenomenal Drishyam, tragically proves that even the best filmmakers can miss the mark. 5.5/10

The high expectations set by that legacy made this underwhelming experience particularly disappointing. This film is a prime example of style over substance, where the promise of a sharp, ingenious thriller quickly dissipates.

The narrative starts sluggishly; truthfully, I felt the urge to stop watching after the first 30 min but only stuck on because of Jeethu Joseph. Silly me…

While the central premise hints at complexity, the execution is riddled with pacing issues and a story that becomes predictable far too early. The plot twists – a signature element of the director’s work – are easily seen coming, making the rest of the lengthy runtime feel unnecessarily drawn out.

The lack of genuine tension prevents it from being truly engaging. I would only recommend watching this if you are truly bored and have exhausted all other options. It’s a sadly forgettable effort that fails to live up to its brilliant pedigree.
